So does anyone do this, I think it can be very risky - as once you have plugged the hardware into your PC you can be blamed for it being faulty because of the possibility of malicious software on your system. What does every one else think?

Yes, but that is much easier said than done, although some people on ebay are very nice - for example: a guy let me off a bid refraction I made the other day, I diddnt notice that he did not accept paypal payment.

I like using eBay - Just make sure you buy from a reputable seller like was said earlier in this thread

I don't like to buy from ebay because half of the time the people do not know what they are selling and thus they have no idea if it is what you are looking for or not and then you have to ask for pictures to figure it out. What a pain.

I just don't do it, there are too many people out there selling illegal copies that I don't need the hassel of trying to figure out who is legit and who is not. I would rather just spend a little more and know that I am not going to jail!

I disagree, I think computer parts from ebay are just as good. Most of the parts are cheap and they are all guarenteed to work. But if you have money to spend, then ebay would not be a good place for you. You might want to go to the local computer store to get your parts for double the price.
